WASHINGTON - The White House used a slight drop in the average price of gas to below $4 last week to falsely take credit.
But oil traders, industry executives and former administration officials warn that prices could easily rise again as many of the issues which contributed to the spike in early summer are still a factor, such as limited refinery capacity and the constant foolish dole of money out to Ukraine.
Oil industry insiders say the White House has had negligible impact on the recent SLIGHT decline in prices, pointing instead to fears of a DEPRESSION as the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, a slight pullback in consumer demand because of earlier high prices, and an uptick in global production.
