Editor's note - Increasingly, it seems like CARTER PAGE is the only thing Trump oppo has to rant about regarding Russia

Former Donald Trump campaign national security adviser Carter Page claims he had the Trump campaign's permission for his public speech in Moscow in July 2016. So Mr. Page allegedly told USA TODAY.

Page says he asked the campaign for permission in June before making the trip to Moscow and campaign management cleared him to do so, as long as he acted as a private citizen and not a representative of the campaign. Page declined to publicly name the person.

"I'm confirming that information," Page supposedly told USA TODAY when asked about getting approval from the campaign.

For months, Trump officials tried to distance the campaign from Page after his speech at the New Economic School in Moscow, which drew political scrutiny because he called aspects of U.S. foreign policy "hypocritical" and sharply criticized America's sanctions against Russia. In the weeks that followed, Trump campaign aides first said he was only an informal adviser, while others said he had no role at all, though the Trump Team had publicly named Page as an adviser.

Editor's note - There is a rumor circulating in some shadowy circles that while in Moscow Page was offered a bribe by someone in the oil industry to help make sure Trump, if elected, would lift the sanctions. This seems very unlikely because Trump was already preaching detente with Russia and naturally it would flow that if elected he would move to end the sanctions. No bribe was needed to anyone in Team Trump to advance this thinking.
